Las Vegas 5th December continued. Visiting LuXor Pyramid

Las Vegas, USA. Walking for hours!
After looking at the different places and using the restrooms - which have automatic flushing toilets and movement sensitive taps that activate when you pass your hands under, cool, - I bought a $13 ticket which allowed me to visit the four main attractions.

Episode one was a trip into the heart of LuXor which has a mysterious and lame story about it.

Problems were had with the lift to the 20,000 feet below floor (simulated) but we eventually got in, then the doors shut and the lights went out!

This was not supposed to happen. The short, cute girl with braces who was our guide explained what was supposed to happen and then they got it working again. A screen lit up beside the elevator floor showing the main hero and heroine on a similar lift next to us. 'Oh, hi, come along for the ride. Hey you're brakes just jammed (floor shakes alarmingly) 'Oh, no, the cable just broke. They've got no brakes. Hang on, I'll see what I can do!' Character climbs underneath the lift and reaches for ours as ours plummets alarmingly. Manages to jam brakes just before the bottom, with the hero swinging under his own lift as he did this. Very good.

(I didn't like the fact that we had to stand in line for this and watch the same news report on the history of the mystery of the LuXor constantly being repeated) Anyway, exited the elevator which, incidentally, hadn't really gone anywhere, into a large room full of interesting artifacts. We lined up to see another video, this time of the heroine being captured by the evil Doctor Osiris.

Then a video on how to enter the levitating vehicles which were to take us to the surface in the emergency. Accidentally the vehicle was ensnared on the hero's vehicle and we had to accompany him on the ride through thousands of computer graphic images that looked close to being real. As he'd hit something, the ship we were in would jolt to the side. It was great until I started feeling sick near the end of it. Oh, well. My limit for those is definitely 15 minutes.

After that we were back on the surface (a lady had minded my bag for me in case it got damaged) and the exit door lead conveniently to the souvenir shop.

After looking around I went to the next attraction - LuXor Live. A screen in front featured a talk show done in such a way you could believe they were actually there. It was audience participation (to a video?) so we had to cheer or boo. Fun, fun, fun!

The main reason was for the 3D vision that the heroine has about the Obelisk. We donned 3D glasses and experienced quite an interesting arrangement of visuals. The dancing liquid people I liked the most. They were on a beach and so close you could almost touch them. It was great! They suddenly covered themselves in loose metal clothing and fought. Interesting.

After all those magical things happen, including the eclipse of the sun and the appearance of a glowing obelisk and falling backdrops, the video presenter vanishes and the live presenter gets onto a ladder, gets swallowed by smoke and vanishes. Really good!

After that was the tunnel of time.
