Grand Canyon Flight
1:28am. Tired, cold, hungry. If I wasn't hungry I'd be asleep in an instant. This is a lesson I hope not to forget. I avoided food because I was going in a Cessna. Then I didn't eat enough afterwards to make up for it. Damn. (Note: The room I chose did not have a bar/snack fridge) I'm hungry. When I wake at six I'll be ordering room service - Steak, two eggs, potatoes & toast.

It was delicious! I feel so full. Can I eat that final half piece of toast?

The potato looked like 3D cross hatching and the jams for the toast were by Smucker - Apple Jelly, Strawberry Jam and Concorde Grape Jelly. (Separate of course. But then again, you're reading the diary of a guy that has been known to put vegemite and peanut butter on a saltana and cheese sandwich. Wow. Living dangerously!)

It's 6:53am and I think I had 3 1/2 hours sleep. But that's okay 'cos I feel fit, just tired, and I had an hour sleep at sevenish the day before. I'll try and sleep on the bus if I get a window seat. I should. It's low season!

Well, the window's are wide open, (the curtains, I mean), and I'm hoping to catch the sunrise as I face the sun. The sky is awash with sweeping claws of cloud. Could be a windy day today.

I'm hoping that the bus tour will explain a bit of the history of the area, as well as perhaps some Indian history.

(If you'd like to hear a bit of the bus tour, you can listen to Jauntcast02 - a podcast of this part of the trip.)
